If you get the error "Syntax error: expecting rightparen before rightbrace" it's because you copied and pasted the code.

The error for me was fixed after i deleted the both the ( and “ symbols on the 3rd line in URLRequest(“http://yourhomepage.com/“); i.e. the opening bracket and quotation mark.

Entering them in manually worked a treat. FYI i'm using Firefox to copy the code.

Thanks for the code Alex - this guide is simple and to the point. Top marks for you sir.

As a side note/rant; AS3 is awful, I can't wait for Flash to be scrapped completely, Adobe only have themselves and their awfully complex programs to blame...It shouldn't be this hard to create a hyperlink!!

Hi!

Thanks for the code. My only problem is that there's an AS3 glowing effect in the code as well, and if it is running, it gets to the top of the area (the link do not works until it is over).

Have you got any ideas how to solve it?

Thanks again!

Hi there, and thanks for listening to the podcast. We are now making some major changes to the site including a premium area including the audio and also full pdf show notes. We'll also be adding some new podcasts to the old 100 or so podcasts we have already recorded.

There will of course be some free content for basic members of the site. I will be posting some information about that very soon.

Obrigado!

Hi Alex,

First, I'm Brazilian and I'm not domain the english language, so if I to write something wrong, please forgive me. Well, I'm here to say that the japanese podcast is great! Very fun to hear, and to learn with them. I'm from japanese family (from Okinawa) but here in Brazil, unfortunately, just few japanese descendents knew the language. I'm learning too the pronunciation of the english words and I am practicing both languages, someday I will to learn the Okinawa dialect/language (the Uchinaguchi) too. Discovered the podcasts one or two week ago, but Alex, the next contents will be just for premium members?

Thanks for the attention,

Celso

Cool dood. Suggestion: cut the intro to 3-4 bars, add a vocal. 3-4 lines of lyrics, then cut to a refrain with a bigger sound. Follow a standard formula. Rough it up a little - maybe with the drums and throw in some distortion guitar on the refrain only. Think Eagle-Eye Cherry. Keep at it.
