もっと詳しい情報はmail(at)alexbrooke(dot)comまで連絡してください。是非FacebookTwitterを見てください。

もしかすると不景気英語学校も登場するかもしれません!

View Earth Embassy Odyssey Party 29th/30th August 2009 in a larger map

I’m helping to organize this awesome party happening at the Earth Embassy on 29th and 30th August. There are going to be DJs, live bands, food stalls, a bar and a cafe. It’s also set in some incredible scenery at the foot of Mount Fuji. My band “Goofy” will be playing a mix of Reggae and surf rock so please come and check us out.

I always had trouble finding small sized outdoor techno, ambient and live events in Japan. So I guess the answer is to make your own which we have.

The entrance fee is $3500 yen. Getting there is pretty easy as you can take a Keio bus from Shinjuku directly to the event. If you are interested please contact me at mail(at)alexbrooke(dot)com or you can find me on twitter. Also, you can sign up to the event on Facebook.

Dan Deacon

As I mentioned Dan Deacon in my last blog entry I thought I should write a little something about him. I could tell you that he has been described as an absurdist electronic music composer and performer. I could also tell you he uses some very basic synths, and effects units to make some of the most high energy, driving, psychedelic, electronica you have ever heard. I could also tell you his lyrics don’t make sense, at least sober. However, that’s all been talked about and really you have to discover him or yourself. Instead I have a few observations on why I think he rocketh

1) He doesn’t care that he’s a nerd

2) He probably doesn’t care that an asshole like me would call him a nerd

3) The music is full on, fun, raw and it rocks.

4) He demands audience participation through his regular dance off competitions where he asks people to dance “sassy as fuck”.

Quite a bit different from a U2 concert. Anyway, enjoy the interview and you can check out his music on youtube

All I want to know now is when is he coming to Japan? Well come on Dan tell us?
