Hi Alex,
I just wanted to say thank you for the japanese podcasts. They are really fun to listen while I bike and I imagine that Boulder CO is wherever you guys are in Japan. For the last month I have been nannying and I push the stroller around while listening to you and your friends. I might go volunteer a bit in Okinawa soon, and I am very excited!
Your ambient music is nice too! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Elena
Thank you for the kind comments! Glad you enjoy the show. Would love to hear about your experiences in Okinawa
Hi Alex, site looking good.
Got a 404 on your twitter url http://alexbrooke.com/my-projects/ though!
Could you email me direct, as I want to talk about some music related things if you have time.
Cheers,
paul aka komuso
Oops, just changed the link. Basically you can hear my music here: http://alexbrooke.com/my-music/ I also have some info about what I am working on here: http://alexbrooke.com/about-me/
um, this is the http://alexbrooke.com/about-me/ page…
I was just looking for a contact to email you actually!
Hey Alex,
First off, I love the Learn Japanese podcasts. I never realized you were a musician until today and that means we have some stuff in common. Perhaps you could give some advice on how to secure gigs in Tokyo. My band, Come See My Dead Person (don’t ask), are thinking of trying to do an overseas mini-tour once our album is finished. Is it difficult to secure gigs in the city?
Anyway, great work, great music, great guitar lessons, and great attitude in general. I look forward to seeing the sites grow.
Speaking of, is there somewhere that I can donate money to you guys?
Hi Roy, thanks for the comment. It’s not hard at all to get gigs in Tokyo but you have to put all the money up front for the ticket sales if you want to play a big gig. Smaller places aren’t like that though.
Alex!! Just discovered the Podcast this afternoon. Absolutely loving it. It’s easy to digest, it’s fun, and it’s very very informative and helpful. You’ve done a great job. Please keep at it. I am in the country for three weeks over Christmas. Central and South. Looking forward.
Cheers,
Brett
Hi Bret, thanks for checking out my website and listening to the podcast. very kind of you! So what brings you over to Japan?
Hi Alex,
First, I’m Brazilian and I’m not domain the english language, so if I to write something wrong, please forgive me. Well, I’m here to say that the japanese podcast is great! Very fun to hear, and to learn with them. I’m from japanese family (from Okinawa) but here in Brazil, unfortunately, just few japanese descendents knew the language. I’m learning too the pronunciation of the english words and I am practicing both languages, someday I will to learn the Okinawa dialect/language (the Uchinaguchi) too. Discovered the podcasts one or two week ago, but Alex, the next contents will be just for premium members?
Thanks for the attention,
Celso
Hi there, and thanks for listening to the podcast. We are now making some major changes to the site including a premium area including the audio and also full pdf show notes. We’ll also be adding some new podcasts to the old 100 or so podcasts we have already recorded.
There will of course be some free content for basic members of the site. I will be posting some information about that very soon.
Obrigado!
Dood your site rocks!
Thank you very much!
